For this year’s whoswholegal #2025 client feedback – Hanna is “[t]he most compelling lawyer I have met – her ideas are worth billions” – I’m ridiculously cheekily riffing off Hilary Swank’s film “Million Dollar Baby”. I love boxing (props to London’s best personal trainer Kat Sterbova) and have waited tables just like the heroine, but hasten to acknowledge some differences:
🥊 I don’t have Clint Eastwood as a mentor #CryingInjustice.
🥊 Hilary Swank’s muscle mass, fame and Oscar count greatly exceed mine.
🥊 My life is a self-directed indie production.
🥊 I’m steering for a happier ending than the heroine.
But also a parallel between #martialarts and hashtag#disputeresolution:
🥊 Have a plan so you don’t get pummelled in the nose.
